This song saved my life
March 31, 2009
It’s nearly two years to the day that I heard this song for the first time. It saved my tiny life in so many ways, some too dark to say out loud. I will probably never meet the man who wrote it, so he’ll probably never know how something he created affected me so profoundly. It was one of those quiet moments when you realise that you could have gone your entire life never knowing of its existence and you would have been poorer for it. In my case, much poorer.
Why all the seriousness? I’ve started writing again. Song writing. I’ve actually written something that I’m proud of. I might even take them for a spin once my fingers have stopped hurting from my bad guitar playing.
Tattoo tester
March 25, 2009
I’ve been thinking long and hard about getting a tattoo. Josh Beech may have spurred me on a bit. I do this every couple of years but this time I’m pretty sure of what I want now. Although I haven’t found the right font, I know what I want written. It’ll be in French. Get me.
But, most tattoos I’ve seen on other people look shit*. That’s probably because I don’t like tattoo art. However, instead of tattooing myself in helvetica or some other design wankery font, I thought I might make my own. And test it with this.
trouble is this doesn’t exist. But it’s a lovely concept bootifully executed.

Blamma! Blamma!
March 25, 2009
I happened upon Blamma! Blamma! in my NME days and have loved them ever since. Never seen them live although I really should because their shows seem absolutely mental. They send me emails every now and again with free tracks written not in a music marketing way (they’re not signed) but from them and they seem like lovely guys. I’ve got about 12 tracks of their remixes on my ipod and blimey they are good to listen to when you’re pissed off, drunk, happy, dancy, mental, anything: guarenteed to get you dancing like an e-ed up Manc stuck in a time warp with a whistle.
Sign up to their maillist on their myspace to get your free stuff too
Here’s their latest video. Lovely slow-mo macro stuff of two fat guys running into each other. Oddly compelling viewing
The Age of Stupid

from Don Shade’s blog. I’m glad people care enough to make films like these about how we’re marching to our own destruction knowingly. Also Pete Postlethwaite is badass.

tattooed hotness (Josh Beech) and good advertising (Levis). Currently on view for all underground travelling London to see. Delicious.

Men
March 1, 2009
I posted my top three boys the other week. Delicious boys they are too.
Now for part two: men. Oh men delicious men.
First in is of course David Tennant. I would cry if I met him. Not only do I jump up and down like a child when the Doctor Who theme tune blasts out of my telly on Christmas day, I melt a little inside when he does his smouldering look, or his cheeky look, or his dark lonely brooding look, or any look really.

Second on the man list is Cillian Murphy. Technically a man although I only really like him covered in blood in 28 days later.

Rupert Penry-Jones. He’s a sexy spy. End of.
